Have found him on all other Census - Name John Scribbins, or Scribbans, Serobbans, and various other spellings! born in Burghfield, Berkshire, in 81 they had moved to Plymtree in Devon, and stayed there - I have him on 1851 still at home in Burghfield, he married an Esther born in Boarhunt Hampshire, I guess married about 1860, my Gt.Nan born in 1862, so assume they were married before - have tried looking in Hampshire on 1861 as that is where their 1st 2 children were born but can't find, also have his fathers census for 1861 and he seems to ahve left home by then - can anyone find them - have spent several hours on this and need help! Hi Merry, I know that I would need certs. to confirm but I have all other census dates showing him with an Esther, also my Gt. Nans census showing her with them, and I even have John's census when he was at home and Fanny was his mothers name, so assume he used that for his 1st born, I know I'm working on assumptions but I want to find the 1861 for this John, can't find any John Scribbins (there are several spellings) and have chcked using several possible methods, i.e. hants, berks, names, different spellings etc. etc. I can't find marriage either but haven 't spent a long time looking for that yet. thanks for trying Gill
