Hi, my great aunt told me a story about her father having a half brother that no-one knew about. I have found my 2x great grandmothers first marriage and have found their son. My grandmother was Harriett Ann Lakin who married John Richard Williams, their son was Francis Robert Charles Edmund Williams (!). Harriet married my grandfather a few years later and in the 1901 census Francis is living with John's parents, with no John to be found. Harriet changed her name to Florence and married James Walters, and in 1901 is living in London/Middlesex. I have found no death for Francis either up to 1920. My aunt told me that she thought Francis moved to Oz, is there any way to find this out for definate? Ive started trawling the BMDs given by Tony on his big message, but is there a way to find out if he definately emigrated or not? Im presuming it would have been after 1914 because he would have been 20 then. Many thanks |

The National Archives has shipping records for some periods. But of course lots of emigrants went by plane in later years. nell |
