GR Messages - Not happening now?

I've had the problem of not getting emails about messages for about a fortnight. However I have got some of them about 3 or 4 days after the message is on the message boards (but not all of them). I think there must be a glitch in the system, because I haven't had this problem before. Kath. x

I have had this problem for the last 6 months. I have had about 25 messages and only 2 have been e mailed to me. I have had several e mail exchanges with support They initially suggested my filters were at fault. I had not changed anything and all the e mail addresses from genes were in my white list. The latest reply said they were getting their technical team to look into it! I am still waiting. Its harder to log in every day now as I am just not on the comp as much in the summer. netti

As I have been without a computer for nearly a month, I have been using the computer in the library. I didnt have any message notifications from GR on my Hotmail account, as accessed through the library, in all that time. I finally got my new computer up and running yesterday - 32 messages from GR! Maybe its a coincidence.... Olde Crone

I had my emails arriving a few days after I noticed messages on GR but that has ceased now. As that had been happening for a while it took me a while to notice that the emails were not happening at all. Toni

Same for me too although my delays have been only 2d max, now I'm wondering if my emails out are getting to the right place? jen

hi i have a problem too , but mine is that my emails from GR are arriving 2/3 days after the message. i thought it was just me lol

That's a good idea. I know the problem isn't me as I used to get the emails and nothing has changed but it's always good to have all safety measures in place. Thanks Toni

The only thing I can suggest trying is putting the following addresses in your eMail address book (if you haven't done so already!) noreply AT genesreunited(.)co(.)uk contact AT genesreunited(.)co(.)uk Then if it happens again, you know that it's definately not a problem at your end. Gordon

Hi all, Ive had the same problem. Ive checked antispam, blocking and the account here.all is as it should be, except I'm not getting anything....so Im doing as linda is and just checking in often. jackie

Hi Gordon: The GR team suggested their emails notifying me about messages were suddenly being sent to junk .... but that wasn't happening. I've checked everything there is to check .... and nothing has changed. At least I now know that the problem exists so I just log in more than I usually do. Linda

It's always worth: a) checking the Spam filters on your eMail accounts. b) checking the 'My Account' details on the left to check that the messages are going to the eMail account you think they're going to... I've been caught out by both of those things in the past... Gordon

Thanks for your quick replies. I guess there may be a problem but not for everyone. I'll have to make sure I log in regularly. I don't mind not getting the email I just don't want to be rude by not replying to people in a reasonable time. Toni

Hi Toni: I've had the same problem for the past week. I only find out about new messages if I log in. I did ask GR about this and I was told that the system informing us about messages via email is still in place .... however, it's not working for me. Linda

Hello, Just a question about the message system when someone contacts you. Has GR ceased emailing to tell you you have a message? I have had a few contacts recently and no email. It is just by chance that I logged on and saw that I had a message. I still get the hot matches and new names but that is it. I read on another post that GR had been taken over. Is the lack of email a result of the takeover? Thanks Toni
