The marriage cert should tell you his fathers name,his age and area he was in. Then you can look for family on 1901 census and carry on from there. Sylvia.

my great grandad was william jones i know he married in 1919 and they had my grandad in 1920,what can i do next to go back further with my great grandad most of my family were brummies,so am assuming my great grandad is a brummie and have no idea when he was born but guessing around 1900 any tips to go back further greatly appreciated bacardi xx
