Sorry to get back to you so late. I have not found him on the census yet but i will do a more indepht search when i am on my days off from work. He married my Great great grandmother in 1881 and was aged 40 and single. So i estimate his year of birth as 1841. He is down has a labourer. At the time of my great great grandmothers death i think they may have parted because it is her sister who registers her death and says she is a widow on the burial details in 1892. I have recieved her death certificate and it says `wife of`. his name and it says General labourer. I seem to be running round in circles but having recieved the burial details of him and his age at death it more than convinces me that i have the correct man. His occuptation put him has a fisherman. Living in york i could not see how he could make a living fishing in the ouse. I will scan the census and see what is what. Vanessa |

If he was her third husband, perhaps he had retired from actual fishing - may have had shares in a fishing boat/boats, which provided him with an income? Have you found him in census at all - where was he and what did he do? Jay |

The nearest place for fishing would be the Scarborough Bridlington area. Maybe he met her when she was having a holiday at the sea side! Do you know where he was born and where he was on the previous censuses? Linda |

I have just recieved the burial details of my great great grandmothers 3rd husband. It says his occupation was a fisherman. Where in 1893 would a man fish in York? Vanessa |
