There is an Ann Brewerton in Liverpool. It has her occupation as what looks like F S. There are a few of these on the page. Any thoughts on what this means? Many thanks Jeanie |

Thanks Elaine. I wonder if that means she was a servant to a female or a female herself. Wonder why she wasnt called a domestic servant!! |

The abbreviations that were used in the 1841 were MS - male servant or manservant FS - female servant (denoting she was female, rather than a servant to a female) |
