My wife (bless her) has just realised that her mother's maiden name was Medcalf not Metcalf - after I have entered a great number of her vast family. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to change the spelling of a surname on Generations Grand Suite and affect all of them or do I have to go through and change each one separately? Rob |

My husband says that Yes there is a way to change names in the name box, but he thinks it won't change in any notes you have in the Note section. When he is less busy, I will get details for you. Gwyn |

OK... Here goes. Open tree. Go to File in top left hand corner. Click on Save a copy and Save(Exact Copy) [This is just backup incase you go wrong] Click on Find / Replace near top left of screen. Follow instructions in box. This gives a chance to identify which members you wish to change by marking them first. NB This DOES change any instances of the name in the Note section too. Hope this helps. Gwyn |
