East London, Stepneyish way. MILE END OLD TOWN REGISTRATION DISTRICT Registration County : London. Created : 1.10.1857 (previously part of Stepney district). Abolished : 1.1.1926 (succeeded by Stepney district). Sub-districts : Mile End Old Town Eastern; Mile End Old Town North Eastern; Mile End Old Town South Western; Mile End Old Town Western. GRO volumes : 1c (1857-1925). Registers now in Tower Hamlets district. From the list of reg districts www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/reg/lnd.htm put it in your favourites, you won't regret it. nell |
