can you tell me if i am chasing the right family on the two different census please 1881 census ref rg11/2721 folio 127 page 11 and 1891 census ref rg12/2164 folio 126 page 33 says different wife but could have remarried i suppose thanks in advance sam

joseph simcock b 1843 c in norton, staffordshire in 1881 was married and had 4 kids, on 1891 married different woman and none of previous kids but another 3 kids makes me think different family but if it is cant find mine

Have you the right reference for 1891? That looks more like 1851 to me.

On the basis that he's called a son Joseph, which you usually do for children of first rather than second marriages.

I can't view the image, but have you looked at this one, for elimination purposes? Josiah Simcox abt 1841 location, Staffordshire, England Head city Staffordshire (There seem to be lot in 1881 who have vanished by 1891. Death? Migration? Mistranscribed?)
