I have a photo of my grandfather taken in c1890 in full Argyl and Sutherland Highlanders uniform, this has been verified by the Scottish Regiments History Society. My problem is...Is there someone in the Stirling area that could visit Stirling Castle to obtain the info that I am looking for?????? I live in deepest, darkest, Essex and am unable to take the epic journey to Scotland. Kathlyn |

Is there a museum curator there who could help you? I have found regimental museum curators to be very helpful - either directly, or by steering me to other sources. Even if they charge a fee, it'd be cheaper than travelling there! Christine |

I would change the title of your thread to ''Do you live in Stirling?'' Merry |

Hi there, I agree with christine, I am having Derbyshire Records Office do a search for me as I live in Sussex, people are generally willing to do most things for a small fee!!! Worth getting a phone number and giving them a ring x |
