Merry, hi. I have JAMES on the 1861,1881, 1891 and 1901 census, BUT NOT ON THE 1871. ALICE was in an ORPHANAGE in 1871 Ripleys hospital orphange 1871 LANCASTER. THOMAS was in the workhouse in CLITHEROE, 1871. JOSEPH GLOVER born 1851 WEST DERBY LIVERPOOL,step brother, I cant find in the 1871, nor can I find JAMES born 1859 WEST DERBY, LIVERPOOL. not a lot to ask is it.????????? TED YOU MUST BE JOKING. GO SAY IT.

Well, that's half an hour spent, but I can't find him :o(( Trouble is, a young boy away from the rest of his family might easily have been recorded with the wrong surname, or hopeless place of birth :o(( Merry

Hi all, you are all getting me mixed up. Lets start again. JAMES MORLEY born WEST DERBY MAR QTR 1859 8B 383 OR 8B 273. I have him on the 1861 census living with his parents ROBERT MORLEY, MARGARET MORLEY, step bro JOSEPH GLOVER sister ALICE MORLEY, and bro THOMAS MORLEY. I have living at 15 ROCK MOUNT, WEST DERBY, LIVERPOOL. ROBERT MORLEY the dad died age 33, MARCH 1866. MARGARET MORLEY the mum died age 35, MARCH 1864 leaving 3 sons and 1 daughter as orphans. One of the sons JAMES born WEST DERBY 1859 is the one im looking for on the 1871 CENSUS. he would have been 12/13 in 1971. TED. I will have to cut out the jokes.

Kathleen, sorry, he was born in 1859 so he would have been 12/13 and NOT 2/3 in 1871 born in LIVERPOOL WEST DERBY. My mistake.

Surely he must be more than 2/3 if his parents died 1864 and 1868 !!!!! When exactly was he born? Kath. x

hi all. cant remember whether ive asked for a look up for this person, I dont think so. Ive got him on the 1861, 1881, 1891 and 1901 BUT NOT ON THE 1871. The reason being that his mom and died both died in 1864 and 1868 leaving him as an orphan with a step bro, a sister and a brother. His name JAMES MORLEY age 2/3, born in LIVERPOOL WEST DERBY. any help most greatful. TED.
