For anyone who does not know lost cousins is a geneology web site that is trying to link people through the 1881 census. I don't think you need to subscribe to look if any of your relatives are on there but the code would mean you could contact your relatives for free. There lettest newsletter says they have now six thousand mistranscriptions of names on the census including my Wilton's who ended up as Witton so if you have someone you just can't find it might be well worth taking a look. They are also compiling a list of maiden names of married women on the census which might help someone. |

The offer code I've been given to pass on is JUN68444, but yes this only makes it free to contact anyone. Otherwise it is free to join anyway.......................................... I reccommend the Lost Cousins site. It has helped me in being methodical in going through all my tree, and it's surprisingly easy once you get started. Don't be put off as I first was! Give it a go. Once you've got your rellies on, you only need check back periodically. Good Luck. |
