The weddings stating 'of Sidlesham' just mean that he was living in Sidlesham at the time of the wedding, not where he was born, though its probably a good starting point. The records office might well have some indexed transcriptions of baptisms in the county, which you could use to locate any likely parish records and then check the originals. nell |

Thanks Yvonne, I did ask them last time and they gave me a disc from which I took notes, including Emery Caiger's two weddings, both of which he was described as of Sidlesham. I will do as you advise! Nell - thank you too! xx Jen |

There are some Emery Caiger baptisms on www.familysearch.org - you could use them as a starting point for parishes to check if any look likely. nell |

My new cousin in Oz has asked me to connect a definite rellie to a probable one. I don't know what to look for. I went a year or so ago and got a few bits of info. I have a wedding in 1778 of the suspects Charles Caiger & Katherine Emmery of Chidham. Hopefully they are the parents of Emery Caiger but where would I look in the RO? At parish regs? thanks for looking xx Jen |
