You are trying to trace Irene Connelly b. 1951, yes? So, you put a message on the Trying to Find board, you look through GRO indexes for a marriage, or if you really want to make contact, you can consider government Traceline service, which will charge you, but who will pass a message on from your mother in law, should they find Irene.

You would have to go through all the marriages qtr by qtr looking for a marriage in her name and make a note of all of them. Then starting with the ones in the area you think she might have married, order the certificates giving her father's name as a checking point. First you could start by checking out her name on the Tees Valley Indexes (google for the site) in case she got married in the Stockton area. Kath. x

My mother in laws half sister was called Irene Connelly born OND 1951 in Stockton On Tees area, Durham S.E to a Granville Connelly (sometimes called Patrick Granville Nicholas Connelly) and an Ellen S Charlton. She had two full brothers and one full sister. The sister died young in the same area, one brother was mentally ill (dont know where he ended up) and the other lived out his days without getting married or having children and died later in Scotland after 1980 sometime. So the only one that could have gone on o have children would be Irene. Irenes parents broke up sometime prior to the end of 1960 (when her dad married again) and i dont know what happened to her after this. She could have stayed in the Durham/Middlesbrough area, or could have moved as a family to Scotland (if thats where her brother ended up). She could have kept that name, or even gone back to her mothers maiden name when her father left. The last of there four children together was born 1954, so they could have even moved as a family prior to breaking up. Where do i start? My mother in law would love to know if theres a chance she has any half nieces/nephews out there. Thanks, Deborah
