what wars are on in 1881?

She was living with her parents, brothers, sisters and her own children, must have been a real squash in those tiny houses, but about 15 of them in 1 house lol. Her husband did come back, there is a 7 year gap between her children, so I assume that is the 7 years he was away. There are no clues as to where he was other than the soldiers wife thing unfortunately. |

Was she living alone in census? She may have been close to her first confinement and therefore living near a relative whilst the husband was in barracks, or posted to Ireland. Jay |

I have a newly married woman with an occupation of soldierd wife in 1881, anyone know a good place where i can find out which war her husband may have been on? |
