found an example of a woman getting one months jail for concealment of birth in derbyshire......in 1866

Isn't concealment of birth the act of hiding an infant that has died before, at or after birth and pretending it has never existed? Jack

Possibly not harsh enough if you'd killed the baby after birth so you didn't have to bring it up!
