.... petition the BBC to do some of these programmes on some of us!? Let's face it, these celebs have all the money and time they need to be trotting around the world digging out any mysteries in their genealogy. But what about any of us, I'm sure we would relish the opportunity to have the same kind of help in our exasperating searches! Let me know what you think! Lyn x x

OK! So how can we get this started if we are serious about it!? Short of giving out all of our email adds which wouldn't be wise would it?? We could do with a growing list of names that goes to each of us somehow that we can add our name to. Come on you comp wizards, any ideas? Lyn x

You're very lucky to be able to even watch it, let alone appear in it. Perhaps we should petition them to include some expats!! Pam

Awww we should deff do that Pam, and we will have to put your name as number one for the expats! Gizmo - that's a great idea too. I have put a thread on General add your name to it and let's see how big we can get this thing! Lyn x

Actually, having seen two series of WDYTYA? and a few Family Ties, some of them twice, it seems that you have to spend a lot of time being filmed on a train, or in a car, or aeroplane saying how exciting it all is and how much you've found out. Where are the people like me, who despairingly go through page after page of records with no joy, or who spool microfilm all over the floor, or who find that the records office closes 5 minutes after you've just discovered the reference number for the vital record you want? nell

I'm amazed that the library/records centre have always looked up the info already for the 'celeb' and take them personally to the original source document. Forget the TV bit, I'd be quite happy to get the personal service and a chance to see REAL documents sometimes. Although I must admit the satisfaction of finally finding that piece of information you want, after hours of winding the handle on the film viewer, is pretty good...........
