When looking up a BMD I am confronted with a list of names that says....First name on list and last name on list....Should I find a likely name there is a ref. beside it......But how do I know if this is my rellie????? Kathlyn |

You don't unless you order the cert. You have to try and discount the unlikely entries by place/date etc.For post 1912 births the mothers maiden name will be listed as well which helps,but the naming patterns used in years gone by don't make it easy. You could try the LDS site and see if that allows you to eliminate any names and reduce the number of choices that you have. Glen |
