Hi, I have looked and looked for this birth, but can't find it. Anyone help please? Her name is Eva Hazeldine Hughes. Born about 1854 according to her age on the death cert, but 1857 according to her age on one of the census. So anywhere around then really. Would have been born in Birmingham area, including kings norton, aston etc. Many thanks for any time you spend on this Mandy XX |

On the 1851 census the grandparents, Thomas and Mary Hughes have a dau Maria living at home. I am wondering if she is the mother of Eva and Mary A M Hughes who are on the later censuses. Maybe someone named Hazeldine was Eva's father? Anyway.....another idea would be to get the cert for the other child......Mary A M Hughes.....If you feel she is a sibling of Eva (they might be cousins to each other). Name: Mary Ann Maria Hughes Year of Registration: 1859 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun District: Leominster County: Herefordshire, Hereford And Worcester Volume: 6a Page: 485 At least I think you can be pretty certain this is the correct cert for the baby..... Thanks Merry, that's a good idea. I have often wondered where the name Hazeldine came from. Interesting. |
