I am relatively new to Family History and have hit a brick wall. My wall is that i can't get past my gggrandfather due to the fact that every certificate i have obtained of his states a different thing . Example 1st marriage parents unknown born in Monaro NSW Australia;2nd marriage born in Gloucestershire parents Benjamin & Hannah RUSSELL, death cert born in Yorkshire parents Benjamin & Anna Russell. I know that names can be misspelt , but where do I start looking to find out exactly who they were. NSW bdm's have no record of a Benjamin & Hannah/Anna RUSSELL having a child in Monaro. Can anyone suggest anything please!!!! Thanks in advance

Roughly what year was he born? Since two of those certs put his birthplace in England, have you searched the England BMD indexes (available free on Ancestry)?

A couple called Benjamin and Hannah Russell certainly existed in NSW. They had a son William who died in Narrandera in 1922, if that's any help.
