I am relatively new to Family History and have hit a brick wall. My wall is that i can't get past my gggrandfather due to the fact that every certificate i have obtained of his states a different thing . Example 1st marriage parents unknown born in Monaro NSW Australia;2nd marriage born in Gloucestershire parents Benjamin & Hannah RUSSELL, death cert born in Yorkshire parents Benjamin & Anna Russell. I know that names can be misspelt , but where do I start looking to find out exactly who they were. NSW bdm's have no record of a Benjamin & Hannah/Anna RUSSELL having a child in Monaro. Can anyone suggest anything please!!!! Thanks in advance |

Roughly what year was he born? Since two of those certs put his birthplace in England, have you searched the England BMD indexes (available free on Ancestry)? |

A couple called Benjamin and Hannah Russell certainly existed in NSW. They had a son William who died in Narrandera in 1922, if that's any help. |
