Another one is thegenealogist*co*uk in return you get some free searches on their site and then build up credits for other bits ( I haven't completely worked it out yet....) Instead of transcribing you are checking the transcribers work for errors that have been picked up. I worked for doctors for over 10 years so I'm used to *really* dodgy handwriting. I managed to get through quite a few fairly quickly and it's tuning my eye a bit more before I attempt doing full transcriptions. They also give you local trascriptons so that you are used to local names ( But I'm in London.... *rolleyes*) it's all names that have moved in from elsewhere. |
