Can anyone pleeeassseeeee help me with this one?? Was there not a census done in Ireland along with England and Wales? How can i find out some details of my 4xggrandfather who i know died there in 1871?? Absoulutely would be forever indebted to those of you who can advise me on this. :0) x Claire

All Irish censuses except 1901 and 1911 were destroyed. If you scroll down the homepage on GR you will find a section called Tracing Irish roots which might help. getting the death cert would be a start -details of Irish GRO are in the civil registration section of 'getting started' also on the homepage. nell
