Do you mean the span of years? If so, could there have been two wives? |

Hi Alter: I show a Mary Bown, born 1746. Don't know if this will work: http://www*familysearch*org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp Perhaps his first wife died and she is the second? PS Check Edward Dean in IGI, British Isles, No. 41, born about 1728 |

he married mary bounds but my guess is that some numptee submitter has read that the mother of the 3rd child onwards is also a mary and presumed- i have spotted a marriage of an edward dean and a mary gee about 9 months before the 3rd birth- it is the only one in the same county . it is in staveley and my guess is that staveley ,the marriage location is her home village. why do we have to go round tidying up these entries and mistranscriptions-ive had murder with ancestry over a family on a census that they havent altered!! |

I couldn't find the dates you gave, but there is this: Husband's Name Edward DEAN (AFN:1V0M-L0J) Pedigree Born: 1728 Place: Christened: 11 Aug 1728 Place: Bolsover, Derby, England Died: 18 Feb 1821 Place: Bolsover, Derby, England Married: 29 Nov 1757 Place: Father: William DEAN (AFN:1V0M-L5K) Family Mother: Ann (AFN:1V0M-L6R) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wife's Name Mary BOUNDS (AFN:1V0M-M6X) Pedigree Born: Abt. 1736 Place: <Bolsover, Derby, England> Married: 29 Nov 1757 Place: I think that there's also a Mary Bawn somewhere. Off to hunt again. |

It might be interesting to contact the submitters, to see what they've found out. I noticed one child had a date of death, which would lead me to believe that he might be the submitter's ancestor. |

I'm sitting here laughing.....however.....I have one ancestor who WAS born in 1822 and DID die in 1928. In one of our records, they typed her birth year as 1922 -- guess they just didn't believe what they saw. Perhaps he was christened in 1754 - either because the family had more money, or the future bride's family insisted on it? |

pedigree files are submitted by individuals and the information is only as good as the submitter. Sometimes I've found details that check out, other times there's complete gibberish, like the man who was married before he was born and another chap who seems to have married his mother. Always check the original source where possible - ie the parish registers. nell |

Thought as much- mary Gee came from Staveley and was born in 1752. So edward dean marries Mary Bounds in 1757. They have 2 children together. 1758 1762 edward dean marries Mary Gee in Staveley as soon as she is pregnant in december 1772. the third child is born august 1773 in Bolsover-Edwards area. |
