That is very weird. on 1851 the only match I could find for Elizabeth was in Llantillio Wales William born Herts SABINA born Monmouthshire. Elizabeth born st.Giles the Martyr. However, he was a farmer with 12 acres so I thought, you dont go from tailoring to farming, but now I`m not so sure. I will have to wait for birth cert to get mmn. I hate the waiting, I want to get on NOW!!!! Many thanks Sylvia. Thank you Julie but I think the dates are too far out for that one. Sylvia.

I think it's a case of wait and see as regards to finding the family on the census without her birth cert ......... have tried Ries, Reis, Reece , Keys & Lees ( found my Ree's under the latter a while ago) on '51, '61 & '71 and can't find her or william sadly

Maybe this will help a wee bit in the look up stakes as well as your Elizabeth REES being born in HOlborn in 1848 there is also a Charles James REES born in 1853 in Holborn these were the only 2 Rees births in Holborn +/- 10 years

Hi you said Elizabeth married in 1871 at St George Hanover Square there is a birth in 1847 for the same district, could this possibly be your Elizabeth REES Name: Elizabeth Rees Year of Registration: 1847 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec District: St George Hanover Square County: London, Surrey Volume: 1 Page: 46

Thank you Kath, that is certainly worth looking into. I never cease to be amazed at how kind and helpful people are on this board. I just hope I can repay the help in the future. Sylvia. Kath, the reason I chose the Holborn one is because on 1881 all addresses for birth were given(unusually) and hers was, Princeton St. Red Lion Square. which is in Holborn. I will be very annoyed if it`s the wrong one! Sylvia.
