Trying to trace a John Clement Minto born circa 1920, probably in County Durham. Married circa 1943 (still in County Durham) Moved to St Helier, Jersey 1959. Can't find any birth, marriage or death certificate for him anywhere. He is known to have fathered 9 children and to have lived in the Chester le Street area of County Durham throughout the 1940's and the Starbeck area of Harrogate, North Yorkshire around 1952/53. I have found others of the same name but the dates of birth do not tally. Anyone got any ideas please |

Doreen there is a marriage for John C Minto to Elsie Affleck in the December quarter 1943 in Durham N. Ref No:10a-1123. Could this be your chap? Georgina. |

Doreen if that is your John Minto who married Elsie Affleck then they had the following children. Irene Y Minto born september quarter 1946 in Durham W. Ref No:1a-663 Audrey Minto born September quarter 1948 in Durham N. Ref No:1a-615. Ronald Minto born September quarter 1949 in Durham N. Ref No:1a-587. Carol M Minto born September quarter 1950 in Newcastle T. Ref No:1b-174. Doreen Minto born June quarter 1952 in Newcastle T. Ref No:1b-137. John D Mintoe born June quarter 1953 in Claro Ref No:2c-106. The births seem to stop after John, do any of these names fit your family? Georgina. |

Further to my earlier message, I feel I must reiterate my thanks and share my success story. Georgina Skinner has found my parents marriage and six of their children (including me!). I have contacte (and met) three of these as well as two others not listed. My sistsers Audrey, Carol and myself were reunited with my, sorry our, brother Ronnie live on GMTV just a few weeks ago. It has been a fairy tale story - a dream come true after more than 50 years. We are still trying to find Irene Yvonne, George Andrew and John Derek so if any of you have the knowledge, please contact me. I have found siblings in Scotland, Australia, Worcester and locally here in the North East. My brother, who now lives in Worcester, lived in the same village as me ( less than a quarter of a mile away) even up to 1980 when we were both in the early years of our marriages - and we never knowingly met each other. So, if you have any information, I hope you will contact me and share it. Once again, thanks to you all Doreen |
