Ive got a Violet A Connelly died aged 2 in the district of Middleborough July, Aug, Sep 1951. We believe she was run over when she got out of the family garden.How would i find any article or mention of this in local papers online? Thanks, Deborah |

If you get in touch with the main Reference Library in Middlesbrough, they have old copies of 'The Evening Gazette' - the local paper for Middlesbrough - on film, and they will probably look for the article for you if you ask nicely, and have a rough idea of the date. Hardly any local newspapers are available online. However libraries are very helpful about sending photocopies, especially if you have an exact date for them to search. If you order the death cert it will give cause and exact date of death and whether there was an inquest. Alternatively you can search local newspapers either at relevant libraries/records offices or the British Library's newspaper collection in Colindale, North London. nell |
