Is there a soundex link on Ancestry for census searches? I am looking on 1851 and can`t see a link. Do I have to keep making up names in case of mis-transcription? Many thanks, Sylvia. |

The soundex/exact on Ancestry is the box to the right of the surname, either on the main page or on any of the various search boxes. It's often better to leave out the surname altogether, or just enter the first three letters and then an asterisk. Merry |
