I am trying to find a birth cert for a John Garrett born about 1838 Peterchurch Hereford. I have searched the birth reg up to 1840 do I assume his birth was not registered as I could not find him. I found him on the census and IGI records. Forgive me if I do not reply to this have visitors today and will be back later. All ideas will be appreciated. Thanks

As he was born (abt) 1838, he could have actually been born before the civil registration started in 1837? the record on IGI is for his christening not his birth Roy
