Well its over two weeks since I changed to talktalk for my (free )international and national phone calls, line rental and broadband, saving a lovely £20 a month and my fears they would be overloaded hasnt materialised as yet. It has been much better than my wanadoo connection so far. Connects almost instantly no probs with my OE which I had before. I know some of you asked for an update of how it was going before you signed up and my memory was jogged by another thread having probs with AOL. Im very pleased with it so far - even more pleased when I think I am saving £240 a year. |

Hi Heather, I did see the advert for this on television but was unsure if I should change!!!.. I have Sky television, BT phone line and Wanadoo broadband, I thought Talk talk may change things after a while though. Do you get broadband too with talk talk package?? Betty |

Yep, like I said, free national and international calls - unlimited, no time bands, up to 70 mins a go and then redial plus Line rental and 2.2 broadband (going up to 8 speed when my local exhange is converted). The whole lot is costing me £31 a month - against £53 previously. I had the most expensive wanadoo broadband option as son needed the highest amount of downloading for his online games - with talk talk the standard download is the same as wanadoos highest. My eldest son is paying £21 for all this with talk talk because his local exchange has already been converted (70% have, but we live in a country area). talk talk tell me mine should be converted in 6 months and then I will pay zilch for my broadband too (a tenner a month at mo). If you are living in a city area then you probably have the free broadband option. You can go to the talk talk site, enter your phone no. and post code and it will tell you. You tv wouldnt change - your BT line would be the same but you pay talk talk for it and you get your free calls and broadband for £9.99 a month and your line rental £11 (same as now). |

Im amazed myself Gill, I kept thinking once everyone wades in it will slow down and give probs but I have to say up to now its been much better than wanadoo was and when I think I was paying them £35 !! a month for a service (I thought it was less than that, but just got the last bill and they had added wireless and talk to my account - which I had told them I did not want!) I am now getting for £10 and soon for nothing - Im really pleased. |

I cannot have it :-( ''Your phone number was originally provided by a company other than BT (maybe a cable company). We don't have arrangements with these companies to transfer your number so unfortunately at the moment we are unable to give you TalkTalk'' |

Smiley Sam. I got in touch with Talk Talk and they said same to me but they said : Phone BT ask to be put back on with them ( but dont sign up with a contract ) Then when your back on BT , phone Talk Talk up again . Im absoloutly sick to death of NTL they keep putting prices up & back down when i complain . But its every other month......... Connie |

Yes, Id have thought BT would jump at the chance of signing you up. As long as you have BT wiring I suppose - is yours an ultra modern place with just cable? (Cable hasnt reached these parts yet). Just ask for BT to connect your line again if poss then sign up to talk talk, they will then write to BT saying you are going over to them. Though you pay talktalk the line rental (its the same) they hand the dosh for it over to BT. BT is just losing out on call and broadband charges. Sounds a pain but if you are saving up to £360 a year, like I will ....... |

Hi Karen, well officially the free talk time is up to 70 minutes and then you should redial. I am very pleased so far, I was already with them for the all talk option and Ive upgraded to the broadband, international calls and line rental in just 3 weeks from when I applied. I think a lot of people still think you can only talk free to other talk talk customers, which just aint true, its to anyone. |

I'm finally able to Talktalk to everyone again! Phone has been with them since 5 May, no problems. I've (an hour ago) installed the CD thingy and all the plug in bits and bobs for new broadband. My old ISP cut me off on 'go live' date, 24th May, but Talktalk didn't get CD to me until today despite 3 phone calls. A whole 8 days without the internet was awful. I tried to make hubby understand by asking how he would feel if TV broke down on June 9th and he couldn't get a new one delivered until World Cup was over but he just said he'd go watch it in the pub! The incoming emails won't work and I'm told I need to phone Talktalks 'help' line (0870 so not included in the free calls, 10p per minute, minimum charge £2!!!). also I'm only getting 1.1 Megs which is same speed as my old ISP, where is the 8 Megs they advertise? Whinging over, I guess it is saving me money as I'm on the £21 package. |

Hi, I phoned the helpline, you will find there are choices - one being, have you been on talk talk broadband for less than 14 days. If you click on that option you get the tech help free. Id ask them about the speed too. It should be a minimum of 2 - mine is 2.2 - we wont get the 8 until our local exchange is updated. Do get on to them asap. |
