I have been pulling my hair out for several days looking for this marriage, I now concede defeat and I am asking for help. It is between a George Boxall and an Emily Baker, their first child was born in Lambeth in 1863, so am assuming the marriage took place around that area, Emily was born in Lambeth and George in Shalford Surrey, will be eternally grateful for any help anyone can give me.

hi fuzzy, Have you been through the full bmd pages on ancestry? The free bmd transcriptions 1850 to 1869 are pretty sketchy, I've looked, but probably only in the same places as you.. sorry Sarah :-)

Hi Sarah, I have checked all the years that I think are feasible on the full images, but I cannot match up both the names, lots of Emily Bakers but none getting married in the same year, quarter and place as George Boxall. will keep looking as I have found another marriage taking place three years after the first child was born, and she had her name down as already being married on the childs birth cert, what a little fibber eh?!!! Thanks everso much for looking anyway Sarah, it was very kind of you x

Just had a thought - is there any chance she could have been married before? She'd be listed under that name rather than maiden name. Though it'd be maiden name on birth cert for children: 'FORMERLY Baker' with 'LATE Soandso' ...clutching at straws.... Sarah :-)

Hi Sarah, No unfortunately it doesn't show another name for her, just Emily Boxall formerly Baker. The other marriage I mentioned showed that she had been married before, Mary Reed, late Young formerly Perkins, and as I mentioned she said she was Reed when she was still Young, fancy lying to the registrar, tut tut, thanks again Sarah, know what you mean bout clutching to straws! x
