Lovely place to hold it too. I took a bunch of school kids there a few years back - lovely to walk round the grounds and see the working horses.

I haven't been to Gressenhall for a few years but am looking foward to my visit. Strangely two of my daughters want to come with me. They hate history but love Gressenhall!

We had a lovely day at Gressenhall today - did anyone else go? I spent ages going through the old photos and the staff were so helpful and found some photos from their archives of my Dad and grandfather in the Police force. It was fascinating to see the workhouse and all the exhibits, the cottages, schoolroom and village row. Definitely worth a visit for anyone if they are in the area. Frances

Hi Frances, I had a great time too but I didn't expect it to be that busy. I did struggle to get to many of the family history stalls. I know that its good so that more family history is encouraged etc but i don't like crowds :-(

Have to agree with you, and I hope to go back another day when it is less busy. A great day out though, did you find anything useful? Frances

I am still totally addicted to my hubbys Suffolk family at the moment. Have only glimpsed at my Norfolk bunch However my bargain of the day was back copies of Norfolk Roots for £1.00 each. Thats my holiday reading storted. Ang x
