I can find Arthur Royes, b @1834 Mddx on the 1851, a nephew to the Head, Arthur Lindsey. But I cannot find him on any other census, neither can I find his marriage or death. I would so like to know whose child he was! Can anyone help, please? Rosi

Wow, Ozbird! It looks very likely - My Lindsey's home ground was Stanhope Street - many of the certs that I have give that address. You are a genius! Thankyou. Rosi

Thankyou again Ozbird! I will scurry off to the 1881 right now! Hmm - I think that makes him related to Arthur Lindsey's wife Sarah (nee Baker) rather than Arthur himself. She was born in Ireland. However hard I practice my Irish accent I cannot make 'Rous' sound like 'Royes' or vice versa! You must have a sixth sense for winkling out possible mistranscriptions. Thanks again. Rosi And of course - Alfred Baker is shown as brother in law on the 1851 - where Arthur's surname is Royes not Rous!
