My MSN opens automatically when I log onto my computer. Every so often I get a box coming up in the bottom right of the screen saying I have been logged out as I have logged in at another location. I have not logged in anywhere else. Can anyone advise why this is happening? Is someone logging in as me?? Any advice appreciated. Thanks. Lynne |

No, nothing to worry about, it happens to me too. I think because the box opens automatically if you then go to read your hotmail messages or whatever you are sort of duplicating the action. Im sure someone can give you a better description. Actually, you have reminded me to go to the start up programs and delete the messenger as a start up program. It drives me made opening up when I come on here and it also gives time for people on MSN to spot me and start chatting when I dont have the time or energy! |

Heather Thanks for the reassurance. How do you stop it from starting up please? Lynne |

And when it says another Location - it doesnt mean in France or somewhere, just another location on your puter. Oh, yes, to stop it, now Val told me - if you are there Val, I think you click on start and then run and enter MSCONFIG in the box and search and all the start up programs come up and then you untick the box on there for MSN. Hang on til Val comes along to tell us thats right. I think Judy from the States was telling us which programs we could untick - my computer takes ages starting up cos its opening all these programs that you dont actually need or want when you start up. |

Heather Thanks - I didn't think it meant France or anything like that - LOL!! I thought it may be another computer though and wondered if someone else had 'hijacked' my MSN account. I will try what you said and if it doesn't work I will come back. Thanks again. Lynne |

You can stop MSN Messenger opening each time you open windows or sign on to the internet by going to your MSN Messenger screen ->Tools ->Options ->General tab ->Unclick the options that you don't want...ie automatic sign in on connection to the internet and/ or Automatically run messenger when I run windows |
