Just in case some people have not come across the FreeBMD coverage charts. This is the link: http://www.freebmd.org.uk/progress.shtml Just click on Births Marriages or Deaths to see the required bar chart. Please note that these charts are based on estimates and, in particular, a value of 100% does not guarantee that all entries have been transcribed. However, it makes sense to search on another site the quarters that are obviously incomplete, before looking at the apparently 100% quarters, if you can't find the entry you are after on FreeBMD. Thanks Merry Isn't there a way of tracing the births that are not on free bmd by using ancestry. Thanks Pete

Search the Birth index images<<<<<<<<<<<<<Click one of these Search the Marriage index images<<<<<<<<<<Click one of these Search the Death index images<<<<<<<<<<<<Click one of these Then you can search Quarter by Quarter!

Thanks again Merry After following your advice I have found the relative I was looking for plus six brothers and sisters. I noticed during the searches that the numbers dropped dramatically during the war 1914 -1919 and then a heavy increase in 1920. Obvious really but interesting to see it in figures. All the best Peter
