I love being able to find my family but we could elimainate the easy ones if we had more on the birthplace. Living in Australia I have no idea of a village in Britain and I'm sure it works both ways so please put more info on your requests on HOTMAIL

You can always google or look on the Genuki site, which has a list of places arranged under each county. Or try www.streetmap*co.uk nell

I fing the best site for maps is multimap, you can do a normal search for a place name or the advanced search for a street, you can also zoom in and out and lots more, http://www.multimap.*com/ for old maps use, http://www.old-maps.*co.uk/ remove * Roy
