There is an article about the Salvation Army's Tracing Service in last week's online edition of their newspaper 'Salvationist'. they did a search for me about 8 years ago found him even though he had emigrated about 60 years before but they would not tell me where as he had asked not to be found. I was very disappointed. |

I might email this query, but I thougt I'd ask here incase you know... My GGrandparents separated (according to my grandmother) not long after she was born. Would they be able to find out if my GGrandfather had any other children? I know (well, at least I think I do) that he didn't re-marry. He died in 1953. |

Hi Tracy I'm sorry I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't think so. I imagine they'd need more definite information so that they could look for a 'specific' person rather than just a 'maybe'. Have you searched the BMD indexes (free) on Ancestry? It's tedious and of course any subsequent children may well have taken the mother's surname, but it's the best I can think of! hi Mandy yes I realised that, but he left my Aunt without telling her ,and when she died we had a lot of problems , and he could have helped solve them. |

Mandy, that's my problem - I don't know if he did have any, and if he did, I don't know that they'd be registered in his name :( I might try them anyway - can only say No, can't they? :) |
