Is there a site that lists places covered by registration districts? If someone died in Highworth Wilts(1841), would this be registered as Swindon? Thank you for help.Sylvia.

Many thanks for reply Elaine, I have bookmarked site for future ref. Its thrown a spanner in my workings though! Person I was looking for death was in Highworth Workhouse on census day 1841 aged 80+ so I cant see him being moved to Swindon to die next quarter. Back to drawing board! Sylvia.

What if he was taken to a family members home where he died? Merry

Hi Merry, I discounted this theory for two reasons. He was not born in Wilts-probably Berks- and if he had family nearby, why was he in the workhouse at 80+ alone? That was the first death I came to on the index so got too excited!! Will do more trawling for something better. Sylvia.
