Worth a nudge! I have tried this and found information that I didn't know existed due to transcription differences. Thanks! |

If you find people on the NTA 1901 census (the one accessible on here, that Reggie called the PRO....that's just the older name for it!)................and you have access to Ancestry but can't find them with Ancestry's transcriptions.....then don't pay to view the page on TNA.......when you see the name you want, click the yellowish rectangular icon to the left of the name. The next screen shows a box with the RG13 numbers, plus the folio and page number. You can use these numbers to find the page on Ancestry! NB....TNA = The National Archives and .........PRO = Public Record Office Both = Kew! Merry |

Hi Just to let you know that I have searched and seached endlessly for family I knew should be on 1901 census- I have tried all sorts, different counties, variations on spellings etc, and other people have tried for me also to no avail. I was just browsing boards on this site and decided to key the name onto search facility on this site for 1901 census, but still thinking there was no way he would show. Well, hey presto! up he popped and although I obviously had to pay for credits, now I have a family I thought I would never find! Wonder why he won't come up on ancestry- I've just tried again with the ref I got on entry from this site but he's still definitely not there. Simone x |
