Can anyone please see if they can see what the Occupation of Joseph Ensor is. I know what he is by a marriage cert, but dont want to say in case that influences you, and because I want it to be the right family I am convincing myself that that is what it says, if that makes sense!!! would be everso grateful if someone can take a peek. He is bit more than half way down the right hand page. It is the 1841 census. Name: Joseph Ensor Age: 45 Estimated birth year: abt 1796 Household: View other family members Gender: Male Civil parish: Stepney Hundred: Ossulstone (Tower Division) County/Island: Middlesex Country: England Street address:Occupation: View image Source information: HO107/713/6 Registration district: Stepney Sub-registration district: Mile End Old Town Lower ED, institution, or vessel: 17 Folio: 11 Page: 14 (click to see others on page) Line number: 15 GSU Number: 438822

Pete I could kiss you, it says Shoemaker on the marriage certificate and I thought it said Shoe M, but there was a certain amount of me wondering if it said that because I wanted it to say that. thanks so much for taking the time out to check it up for me, you are an angel

I couldn't make it out at all, but shoe m sounds a possibility. Also, I notice the one below is ditto -binder. I also have some relatives who were a shoemaker and a shoe binder, if this helps at all. Victoria.

Thanks to you too Georgina, am pretty sure that it does indeed say shoe m. One piece of good news I have had today, I have to send a certificate back because the grooms name is indecipherable, not badly photocopied but writing to flowery for me to make out. I think the name is welsh and therefore haven't got a clue!!! they are going to get one of their handwriting experts to have a look! wish I could get you to have a look at that!!!! Thanks again xx

Thanks Victoria, That info is very helpful and adds to my feeling that he is a shoemaker as stated on the cert, thanks for taking the time out to help x
