I have Carles COTTRELL b 1847 East London. later in life he is a coachman in Marylebone. I am sure JAMES COTTREL /COTTERILL b 1818North Tedworth Wiltshire is his father he is also a coachman and lives in Marylebone after his m to Elizabeth Golding b 1823 Sotterley Suffolk Charles never appears on a census with his father but does appear as nephew to Henry West m Ann Golding. I was all set to order the birth certificate today but it said does not give Fathers place of birth. I wont be any the wiser will I ? Would appreciate any help that is offered. Molly.

It wont give his dads place of birth but it will give his name and occupation and his mothers name.

Hi Gwyneth, No I cant find ann or elizabeth golding except on the marriages. Will keep looking though.

A birth certificate for Charles will give the maiden name of his mother. How do you know his parent's names?

Hi gwyneth .I have the IGI record for Charles Cottrell b17 Jun 1847 Ch 11 Jul 1847 St Thomas Charterhouse Finsbury. London. Father--James Cottrell Mother - Elizabeth. Having trouble with the computer to day BT have had me connected to a completely different No. and I dont think it is sorted out yet. Molly.
