No I didn't hav to pay extra. I hav the yearly full membership, you just add the name to the searching for pages. And don't worry you to I'll be careful--it takes too long to write out all the paperwork and make corrections!! Been there etc.!!

Hi Carol Did you have to pay separately to access One World Tree? I am a member of Ancestry UK but when I click on a name that I want to check - it fetches up payment options, pay per view, vouchers, etc. Am I doing this wrong or do you have to pay anyway? Thanks and best wishes Carol

I know--but so far the only errors are in variations of spellings of the names and a couple of dates either side of the dates I have. I can actually see one that may not be right, one of the brothers spelt with a variation seems to be down as being born in a different town and county (though not too far away) than all the others, but all the other details seem to fit in ok--so wish me luck. I can't do a proper check yet as my cousin has that file to download onto gedcom at the moment but I'll be getting it back in a couple of weeks, I'v e-mailed the chap so we can do a doubl check and see where he got his info from..

Not wanting to chuck buckets of cold water! But don't forget, you do need to check the info you get from others. I have accessed several trees via One World Tree and have yet to find one without glaring errors on it! Not to say yours will be like that - but just be careful! Merry

If any one is on Ancestry and hasn't checked out the One World Tree search option, my best tip of the day would be enter some names and see what happens!!! A while ago I found an ancesters name on One World Tree, I couldn't definately link her to the tree and the chap who had submited her only had her name as a sister of one of his lot--now thanks to genes and a message from my g gran x2's sisters equivelent to me, I've got the link and with that the tree back to th late 1600's early 1700's, and I can pass it on to my newly found 'cousin', who has also shared her tree and info with me. OOH Isn't this all exciting--nearly better than s-- !!! : 0 )
