The British War Memorial Project are running a voluntary project to build an online International War Memorial to Service Personnel from 1914 to the present day - including those killed in recent conflicts and peacekeeping operations. The photo archive is the largest of it's kind in the world and covers graves/memorials worldwide. Obviously it is an enormous project and will take a while to complete but, for most of World War 1 and I think World War 2 the photograph of the grave/memorial are available for ordering from there at a cost of £10.00. www(.)britishwargraves(.)org(.)uk Linda |

Looks great! I've got three rellies who died in the first and second world wars. Unfortunateley, the two I haven't got a photo of aren;t on the site, but the one I have got one of is. Oh well, just have to have a trip to France and Singapore! lol. |

Tom, don't give up hope, I went to France at the beginning of this month and took a photo of my Great Uncle's memorial - one of the guy's I met out there was taking photos for them - there was a huge team out there taking photos at all the different sites - there are volunteers taking piccied worldwide. The problem they have at the moment is the time it is taking for them to upload all the piccies they took - a massive project as you can imagine. Photos used to be free on there but because of the size of the project (all the people who went out and took photos were volunteers who got paid nothing) and the 'space' needed on the server they have been forced to charge for the service. A photograph can be ordered now but it might take them a few days/weeks to find out who took it and upload it |
