You might need to visit the relevant records office - might be Westminster Archives or the London Metropolitan Archives. nell

The Strand and surrounding areas are Westminster for old archive purposes so they hold the records, not the LMA

If you go to the Charles Booth On Line site you will find a description plus indication on a beautifully marked contemporary map. It is indicated as 'middle class, well to do'. As far as I can make out it's at the Trafalgar Square end of the Strand near Agar Street and William IV Street, bordering Covent Garden.
