Just thought I'd share this with you.............................. Quite a few of my ancestors remained in the same village/s for a number of years. I have contacted several village newsletters/ put info on village websites and am even getting my story put in the local rag for free. I request info on the family in question and have been amazed by the number of kind people who contact me with information and offers to find things out. I've even had anecdotes from an 86 year old who remembered my great grandparents etc etc!! Invaluable!!! Some of you no doubt will have tried this. Anything that promotes family history, to me is a bonus. Has anyone else tried this and what was the outcome!!? |

Well I seem to be the old biddy who's doing it here, with reminiscences of my grandmother's gossipy snippets about the inhabitants of the village, in the days when children were seen but not heard, when I had to accompany her on her afternoon visits to various members of the cattery! jay |
