So it wasn't a printed register, then? The Barrington registers are specially printed, to encourage the writer to enter all the information. But how great to get all that info!

All right for you (SIGH) though I have got entries in Barrington registers and Norfolk burials can take you back a long way.

Found in a Dade register, the following baptism entry: October 1781 – 4 generations given John Tindal son of Henry Tindal farmer, son of William & Sarah Tindale of Yapham, he a farmer, son of Jms Tindal of Yapham, farmer & Jane, daughter of Robert Abel of Bishopthorpe born Sep 26th 1781 baptised Oct 5th 1781 Pity it’s the Abels I’m chasing and not the Tindalls! It was the first entry in the new register and took up half the page – after 3 more, the vicar got fed up of the new system and reverted to just giving details of parents. Jay
