About 100 years ago someone was staying at the vicarage in Raddington in Somerset and decided to do some clearing out. The idiot burned the Parish records! Some details have been recreated from various transcripts and wills but those of us with relatives from that village will never be able to work out some of our relations. Sue |

Hey Carol, so understand the moan i was looking at the 1851 census today and they had scored right through the name making it unreadable, tried blowing it up to 200% but to no avail!!! Bloody inconsiderate of them I say |

Isn't it frustrating looking at census images that have got the pencil scores right through the bit you need!!! I know they had to mark them-but they could have been a little bit more consevative about where they marked them! ( and conciderate to us their descendants!! lol). I've got a few where one or 2 crucial words are just uninteligable--never mind-just had to have a moan!!! |
