USD is Urban Sanitary Distict RD would be Rural district etc. Glen

I have just received a batch of death certificates (typed copies) from the Hull records office. In column 1 for place of death, two of them have the house number and street, followed by 'USD' and another has 'UD'. All were in Hull. Does anyone know what this means?
