Whats a Nurse Child ?

Can anybody please explain what it means. Or rather, i can guess, but why did it happen. I have got a 5 month old baby on 1851 called a nurse child, living with a couple who appear not to be related. Mo |

A nurse child could be a child who was being cared for (fostered if you like).Sometimes they are relations others times they are not,but there are different opinions as to the exact definition. Glen |

Thanks Glen and Shirley. I thought it meant someone who was feeding a child (nursing) because there was something wrong with the Mother, but the woman who is looking after him is 48 so that sort of knocked that on the head Mo |
