do i look under the BMD? ive tried looking in there and can only see birth records

You would search using the married name, I have a couple of people in my family with double barrelled names, they are down on the index as both? as a single name, eg. white-hirst they are listed as white then again as hirst, but on the index they are same vol/page number, I checked at the registry office were they were registered and they are the same person, on the cert that i have using the gro vol/page number it came back White-Hirst. her married name was carter davis (Annie) i think she died in the 70's tho im not sure (my nan cant remember) she was born on 29 oct 1891 born and married in southampton to Robert Edward Carter Davis (born in Upwey Weymouth)

Christine the death would normally be registered under the married name. What name are you looking for and approximately when?

if im trying to find a death record for someone do i search on maiden name or married name and also if the married surname was double barrled do i put it in as double barrled or not? im finding it a bit harder because i cant seem to find a birth record for her so i dont know what quatre it was in. help?
