Cemetery searches cost a bomb!!!!!

Why do you think they charge £30 for a lookup of a burial? Surely if you have the name and date of death it cant be that difficult or time consuming? I have to admit I was a bit shocked, although I do understand that at the moment they must have a lot of enquiries but even so? Suanne |

Oh dear - perhaps it's a local authority that are strapped for cash. Which cemetery was it? The lovely people at East Finchley looked up and emailed me the grave numbers of a whole bunch of my relatives for no charge at all. |

Belfast looked one up for me without charging - not only that, they phoned me back with the results! So it cost them to make the phone call! And I didn't know which cemetery I wanted out of all theirs! Kate. |

In Gloucester they tell you it costs £25 a look up, then when it was only the one I wanted there was in fact, no charge. Maybe it's to stop people turning up with lists of ancestors to search for Sam |
